Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Porschia! Before starting French Toast I worked on the business side of the fashion industry for over 10 years. With a number of brands including Christian Dior, Paige Denim, Aldo Group and many more in Paris, London, Montreal and Toronto.Β

From small brands to large corporations, every company had one thing in common: too much waste! I started French Toast in 2021 to give a second life to vintage pieces. Today there are two sides to the business: vintage and sustainably sourced handmade.

My goal is to create a small collection of hardworking pieces that add value and style to your wardrobe again and again. As long as clothes stay in circulation, they stay out of landfills. So let's continue the story. Let's take these pieces from yesterday's baguette and turn them into today's French Toast.

Bon Appetit!

Meet Our Artisans

All of our pieces are designed or curated in Canada and handmade by artisans. We have relationships with small, mostly family owned, businesses and are constantly inspired by beautiful fabrics and handmade pieces from India, Mexico, Turkey and many other places. Canadian utility with a bohemian flare.

Shop Vintage

Sustainability is at the core of this brand. To date we have sold over 1000 vintage items online (Etsy and ASOS Marketplace) and many more at our in person pop ups. For vintage we focus on vintage silk kimonos, high quality leathers, furs, handbags and designer pieces, all with a touch of bohemian flare.

A curated selection of vintage is still available at shows and on our Etsy page linked below.

It's Cool to Be Kind

We believe in fashion that is good for the Soul, the Earth and the Hands that make it. Most of our pieces are made of natural fibers like cotton, silk and wool that biodegrade. For sourcing we aim to have at least 70% of our pieces sourced from small artisanal businesses. The clothing and accessories you buy not only support this woman owned small business but small businesses worldwide.
